The daughter of immigrant parents from Korea and Germany, a first-generation American, native New Yorker, with the world at my doorstep, and a desire to travel to distant lands and bring people together to inspire and create meaningful change – this is the life I dreamt of since a young girl, the impetus of my 25+ year global social impact career.

 

I’ve worked across the nonprofit, government, multilateral, and private sectors, where I’d like to believe I have bridged divides and brought meaning to people’s lives, institutions, the world. I have had the honor of serving as a U.S. Diplomat stationed in North Korea overseeing the largest humanitarian operation in history there, a Philanthropy Leader with Citigroup where I partnered with over 150 nonprofits across 85 countries to co-create programs that benefited vulnerable populations, and as a Philanthropic Advisor with Citi Private Bank where I supported UHNW philanthropists to discover and deepen their work. Along the way, I’ve worked for and partnered with some of the most notable global nonprofits, the United Nations, and George Soros’ Private Foundation.

 

My next stop on this journey is founding and leading my boutique consultancy, The Impact Advisory, where the full breadth of my advisory, operational, and fieldwork experience allows me to work hand-in-hand with philanthropists, wealth advisors, founders, corporations and public charities seeking to articulate, launch, and/or pivot to deepen their social impact and philanthropic work.
